HACU - NSF Hispanic Scientist

Research Experience for Undergraduate Funding

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) is proud to announce a joint initiative with the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the 2006 academic year. HACU will award Summer Research Experience for Undergraduates (REUs) to attend an NSF Science and Technology Center (STC). The REUs include an hourly wage payment, travel to and from the designated STC, and housing.

REUs are intended for Hispanic undergraduates in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics with a 2.7+ GPA . Candidates must be:

  • citizens of the United States;
  • from HACU Hispanic-Serving Institutions or HACU Associate Member Institutions;
  • sophomores, juniors or non-graduating seniors; and
  • 18 years or older by June 2006.

HACU welcomes inquiries from all qualified science, technology, engineering and mathematics students and encourages women, and persons with disabilities to compete fully in this program.
