Adams Scholarship for Outreach and Health Communications to reduce tobacco use among Priority Populations is offered through the American Legacy Foundation. The Airport Minority Advisory Council Educational and Scholarship Program Web site: http://www.amac-org.com/ AMACESP distributes approximately 12 scholarships per semester valued at $2,000.00 each to women and minorities pursuing a degree in the aviation industry (i.e. engineering, construction, business, etc). The Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) is the only national, non-profit, trade association dedicated to promoting the full participation of minority-owned, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises (M/W/DBEs) in airport contracting and the inclusion of minorities and women in employment.

AmeriCorps Web site: http://www.americorps.gov/ AmeriCorps is a network of national service programs that engage Americans in intensive service to meet the nation’s critical needs in education, public safety, health, and the environment. AmeriCorps offers benefits including an education award, which can be applied to college tuition or student loans.
Boettcher Teachers Program Web site: http://www.boettcherteachers.org/ Established in 2003, the Boettcher Teachers Program is a dual licensure and master’s degree fellowship designed to prepare a highly-skilled workforce of professional educators who make a difference in the individual lives of low-income students and communities and the schools that serve them. Boettcher Teaching Fellows are specially trained and endorsed to work with culturally and linguistically diverse students, and earn a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Denver, as well as a Colorado teaching license from the Colorado Department of Education.
British Marshall Scholarship Web site: http://www.marshallscholarship.org The British Marshall Scholarship offers full tuition and living expenses for study at any accredited university within the United Kingdom. Application is open to American citizens who either already possess or will possess a four-year degree from an accredited college or university in the United States before the start of their award. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of individual merit and financial need and are renewable.

Benjamin A. Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) The Orange County Hispanic Education Endowment Fund (HEEF) of the Orange County Community Foundation provides three avenues of community support throughout the year. Student Scholarships; Corporate Partnerships and Recognition of K-12, community college and university Teachers and Educators. Scholarships are provided for Orange County Hispanic elementary and middle school students, graduating high school seniors, community college transfers, Law School admits, or participants in specialized HEEF programs. Eligible candidates must demonstrate financial need. HEEF also provides a limited number of renewal awards to previous scholarship recipients. Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) Web site: http://www.hsf.net The Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) is the nation's leading organization supporting Hispanic higher education. Founded in 1975 as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, HSF's vision is to strengthen the country by advancing college education among Hispanic Americans. In support of its mission to double the rate of Hispanics earning college degrees, HSF provides the Latino community more college scholarships and educational outreach support than any other organization in the country. During the 2006-2007 acdemic year, HSF awarded nearly 4,200 scholarships exceeding $26.5 million. In its 32-year history, HSF has awarded more than 82,000 scholarships worth more than $221 million to Latinos from all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands attending nearly 2,000 colleges and universities. League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) National Scholarship Fund Web site: http://www.lnesc.org/ LULAC offers scholarships for high school seniors and undergraduate and graduate college students through its educational counterpart, the LULAC National Educational Service Centers, Inc. Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Web site: http://www.everychanceeverytexan.org/ The Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Compendium of Texas Colleges and Financial Aid contains a list of colleges and universities in the State of Texas, admission requirements, total expenses for an academic year, financial aid data and related information, helpful hints to the college bound, together with a calendar of various scholarship deadlines arranged by months. National Association of Hispanic Journalists Web site: http://www.nahj.org/ The National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) offers several scholarships through the Rubén Salazar Scholarship Fund program. Hispanics remain woefully underrepresented in mainstream U.S. newsrooms. One of NAHJ’s goals is to help qualified Hispanic students move from the classroom to the newsroom. NAHJ offers scholarships to college undergraduates and graduate students pursuing careers in print, photo, broadcast or online journalism. The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG) Web site: http://www.asee.org/ndseg This fellowship program is sponsored by the Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program This program is intended for U.S. citizens at or near the beginning of their graduate studies in science and/or engineering programs. The fellowships are for three year tenures. The stipends begin at $30,500 for first year fellows, $31,000 for second year fellows, and $31,500 for third year fellows. Full tuition and fees and a health insurance allowance are included as part of the program.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Web site: http://www.oesd.noaa.gov/Hollings_info.html The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration of the U.S. Department of Commerce Hollings Scholarship Program provides successful undergraduate applicants with awards that include academic assistance for full-time study during the 9-month academic year; a 10-week, full-time internship position during the summer at a NOAA facility; and, if reappointed, academic assistance for full-time study during a second 9-month academic year.
The National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship Program Web site: https://www.fastlane.nsf.gov/grfp/ This fellowship program provides students with three years of financial support including a $30,000 annual stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education allowance. U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens at or near the beginning of research-based graduate studies in the Chemistry, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences fields are eligible to apply.
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) Postdoctoral Fellowship Program Web site: http://www.asee.org/resources/nrl/ This program is open to U.S. citizens and legal permanent residents and offers a competitive stipend as well as insurance, relocation, and travel allowances. This program offers one to three year postdoctoral fellowships designed to increase the involvement of scientists and engineers from academia and industry to scientific and technical areas of interest and relevance to the Navy. This program has a rolling admission.
The Naval Research Enterprise Intern Program (NREIP) Web site: http://www.asee.org/nreip NREIP is a ten week summer research opportunity for undergraduate Juniors & Seniors, and Graduate students, under the guidance of a mentor, at a participating Navy Laboratory. The stipend amounts for the program are $5,500 for undergraduate students and $6,500 for graduate students. U.S. citizenship required; Permanent residents accepted at certain labs.

Peace Corp Web site: http://www.peacecorps.gov/ Since 1960, nearly 200,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in 139 host countries to work on issues ranging from AIDS education to information technology and environmental preservation.

The Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program (SEAP) Web site: http://www.asee.org/seap SEAP is an eight week summer research opportunity at participating ONR laboratories for high school students who have completed at least grade 9, and are at least 16 years of age (for most Laboratories), and a U.S. citizen. A graduating Senior is eligible to apply. The stipend for the summer program is $1,500 for new students; $1,550 for returning students.
Science, Mathematics and Research for Transformation (SMART) Education Program Web site: http://www.asee.org/smart This education program provides scholarships and fellowships to students including an annual salary, full tuition, and other normal educational expenses. The purpose is to promote the education, recruitment and retention of undergraduate and graduate students in science, mathematics and engineering studies. The SMART Education Program is open only to citizens of the United States, and students must be at least 18 years of age to be eligible. There is an employment obligation to DoD with this education program.
Southwest Airlines’ Travel Award Program Through “Dándole Alas a Tu Éxito/Giving Flight To Your Success,” Southwest Airlines will provide round trip tickets to students with socioeconomic need who travel away from home to pursue a higher education. Students must submit a transcript and certificate of enrollment from the university that they are attending. Summer Undergraduate Minority Research Program The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania Web site: http://www.upenn.edu/ldi/sumr/. The Summer Undergraduate Minority Research (SUMR) program, in its eleventh year, provides rising sophomores, juniors and seniors with an opportunity to receive a generous monthly stipend to conduct health services research on a topic of their choice, under the guidance of Penn faculty. The purpose of SUMR is to prepare and encourage top minority students to pursue academic and research careers in health services research and epidemiology.

United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Corporate Scholars Program Web site: http://www.uncf.org/forstudents/scholarship.asp This UNCF program offers Hispanic American, Asian, Pacific Islander American, African American and Native American college students a scholarship that includes an internship designed to help expand the minority workforce of corporations throughout the U.S. Applications are accepted from college sophomores, juniors and graduate students in disciplines requested by UNCF corporate partners. United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP) With a focus on excellence, innovation, and diversity, the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation (UNCFSP) is dedicated to increasing the role and participation of higher education in world communities; and, to globally achieving sustainable solutions to meet the vital challenges of the 21st Century. Founded in April 2000, UNCFSP is a spin-off the United Negro College Fund (UNCF).
