Flores marks 50th anniversary of CETYS, presents on panel

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores marked the 50th anniversary of HACU-member institution CETYS by participating in the 500 Aniversario del CETYS academic event during which he served on a panel discussing “The Impact of Globalization on the Future of Universities.”

The panel was hosted on the campus of CETYS Universidad Baja California. Other panelists included:

  • Dr. Álvaro Romo de la Rosa, Secretary General-Elect, International Association of University Presidents (IAUP), USA/México
  • Dr. Ján Rebro, Vice-President, City University of Seattle European Operations, Slovakia
  • Dr. David Atkinson, President,  Grant MacEwan University, and Vice President of the Consortium for North American Higher Education Collaboration, Canada
  • Ing. J. Alfonso Marín Jiménez, Ex Rector, Sistema CETYS Universidad, México
  • Terrence Henderson, Director of International Affairs,  Sungkyunkwan University, Korea

The 500 Aniversario del CETYS academic event was held on Sept. 19 and featured four other panels throughout the day. The other panels focused on the following topics: The Impact of Changing Demographics on the Future of Universities; The Future Role of Accreditation in Assuring Quality; The Impact of Technology on the Future of Universities; and Achieving Sustainability in the Future of Universities.
