Scholarships presented during Gala

The finalists of the Hispanic College Quiz Hispanic Heritage online video competition were presented with scholarship awards from State Farm on October 31 during the Silver Anniversary Gala of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.  

The students whose videos the judges felt captured the most compelling message traveled to San Antonio, Texas to attend the Student Track component of HACU’s 25th Annual Conference and the Gala.

Listed below are the three finalists from HACU-member institutions:  

  • Star Chacon, University of Texas at El Paso - $1,000 scholarship
  • Marie Tabarez, University of La Verne  - $2,500 scholarship
  • Channing Shattuck, California State University, Long Beach - $5,000 scholarship
