HACU presents award to Secretary of Labor

The Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU) recently presented its 2011 President’s Award for Excellence to the Honorable Hilda L. Solis, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor. 

The award presentation took place in Washington, D.C. during a gathering with representatives from HACU and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute. HACU Alumni Association chair and Governing Board member, Fabiana Perera, presented Secretary Solis with the award in recognition of outstanding service to Hispanic Higher Education Success. 

Solis is a graduate from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, a Hispanic-Serving Institution and HACU-Member Institution.
