HACU and the U.S. Army University College Tour in Chicago

Over 700 high school juniors from Chicago Public Schools and DePue School Districts toured the campus of HACU-member institution University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) on April 29 - May 3 during the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and U.S. Army University Tour. 

Students attended presentations on admissions by the UIC office of Admissions and Latin American Recruitment and Educational Services Program, as well as one on financial aid and scholarship opportunities by the Office of Financial Assistance. The U.S. Army provided information on opportunities and advancement in a military career, and information on free resources available to the students that can help increase standardized test scores. Students also spoke to current UIC students and military cadets about the challenges for students in higher education.



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
