Denver education community unite with HACU on premier 2014 Hispanic higher education conference

Denver-area higher education supporters recently met with representatives of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) to begin planning HACU’s 2014 Annual Conference.

The meeting, led by HACU president and CEO Antonio R. Flores, was held at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel, the location of the upcoming conference, to provide an opportunity to showcase conference highlights and gather feedback from individuals in the Denver area.

The national conference is in its 28th year and with the theme of “Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Investing in America's Future," is expected to attract approximately 1,500 participants to Denver Oct. 4-6.

Attending the meeting were university presidents and CEOs, superintendents, higher education representatives and supporters who will serve on HACU’s Host and Planning Committee.  

The following individuals attended the Dec. 5th meeting:

  • Faviola Barbosa, multicultural affairs coordinator, Wenatchee Valley College

  • Eric Carpio, assistant vice president for enrollment management, Adams State University
