HACU announces return of Denny’s Hungry for Education Scholarships for 2014-15


HACU will partner with Denny’s Corporation on the return of its Hungry for Education program. HACU is one of eight leading non-profit minority advocacy organizations partnering to offer scholarships to students that share the company’s goal of ending childhood hunger in local communities. Students at HACU-member institutions can apply for the Denny’s Hungry for Education Scholarship ($1,000). Five scholarships will be awarded.

Students must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Be a full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students attending a two-year or four-year HACU-member institution nationwide.
  • Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  • Applicants must complete a 500 word essay on how Denny's can help in the fight against childhood hunger in the United States. If notified of selection, scholarship recipients are required to submit a headshot electronically to HACU for Denny’s press purposes.
  • Applications will be accepted from Feb. 3 – April 1. Supporting documents (enrollment verification form and transcript) must be sent to HACU and postmarked no later than April 1, 2014.
