HACU joins The Big Give SA

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has joined with other San Antonio nonprofits in The Big Give SA, a 24-hour event of donating to organizations that effect change at every level of the community.

HACU, which was founded in San Antonio, Texas in 1986 and maintains its national headquarters there today, is participating along with more than 300 organizations. Among the participants are HACU-member institutions Our Lady of the Lake University, St. Mary's University, Trinity University and the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The purpose of the community-wide giving event is to increase public awareness of the local nonprofits addressing the community’s social challenges, bring nonprofits and donors together, and connect people to causes. This will be the first such event for San Antonio, part of the national day of giving called Give Local America. Each participating nonprofit is eligible for matching funds and prize incentives, and individuals can donate by phone, tablet, or computer. There is a minimum donation of $10 and no maximum.
