AHSIE offers HACU discount rate to its HSI Grantsmanship Institute

 

A HACU member registration discount rate of $350 is available for AHSIE’s upcoming HSI Grantsmanship Institute in Denver, Colorado, Oct. 2-4, hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Community College of Denver.  

NEW LOCATION: The institute will take place at CCD Confluence Building, 7th and Curtis, Auraria Higher Education Center. 

AHSIE’s HSI Grantsmanship Institute will provide interactive, hands-on training through technical assistance workshops on the full spectrum of achieving HSI status, competing for the upcoming 2015/16 Title V competition, and project administration. The objectives of the HSI Grantsmanship Institute are to:
  1. Familiarize emerging HSIs with the application process for becoming eligible to compete for Title V funding.
  2. Prepare your institution to submit a proposal to the Title V, PPOHA and HSI-STEM & Articulation grant competitions in 2015 and 2016.
  3. Position your institution to maximize the impact of funding opportunities under Title V Programs for improving student success outcomes.
  4. Build your institution’s capacity to successfully administer (management & regulations) Title V projects.

The Institute will take place over two and a half days, allowing the time for attendees to bring their proposals or proposal ideas, and actually work on their proposals under the guidance of a team of highly successful Title III/Title V grants-seekers and practitioners. Workshop topics will include:

  • Strategic grantsmanship for the upcoming 2015/2016 Title V competition and beyond
  • Building upon existing initiatives at your institution
  • Applying for Title V eligibility
  • Understanding the review process and responding to the RFP
  • Finding and incorporating "high impact practices" into your application
  • Writing a compelling, engaging CDP
  • Developing realistic and measurable Objectives
  • Formatting, sequencing and structuring your Implementation Strategies
  • Picking the right people: the Key Personnel section
  • Models for Project Management
  • Project Evaluation - It's more than the data!
  • Securing the Competitive Preference Priority points
