  • College students studying in the fields of geographical information systems, natural resource sciences, petroleum engineering, and communications are encouraged to apply.
  • BLM will host project-based internships for a minimum of 11-weeks.
  • Interns will receive a bi-weekly stipend and round-trip travel.
  • College Students can apply online.

BLM’s direct hire authority enables the agency to appoint an individual to a career conditional position after completion of their internship assignment and degree requirements.

The new partnership will provide more than 20 new internships across the country in proximity to many HACU-member institutions, including Las Cruces and Santa Fe, NM, and Sacramento, Calif. The internships provide an opportunity to bring a talented and diverse pool of interns to support the Bureau’s mission and goals.

For any questions regarding these federal internships, send an email to the HACU National Internship Program, or contact Jonathan Santeliz or Sommer Brugal via phone at (202) 467-0893.
