HACU President speaks at 2015 MomentUs Leadership Summit in D.C.

Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was among the speakers of the 2015 MomentUs Leadership Summit held in Washington, D.C., May 18-21.

“The fact is that large-scale problems, like climate change, are best addressed by multidisciplinary teams that include natural scientists, humanists, social researchers, engineers, and artists,” said Flores, during his panel presentation on Climate Change and Sustainability as Drivers of Innovation and Academic Change.

“Colleges and universities are natural settings where cross-disciplinary innovation can emerge organically if academic leaders, faculty, and students collaborate to make our world a better place and to leave it in better shape for generations to come,” said Flores.

Path to Positive, the 2015 MomentUs Leadership Summit, was an invitation-only gathering of 200 national leaders from faith, health, higher education, business, conservation/environment, and the social sciences. Sessions focused on sharing ideas and building the paths to social, political, economic, and environmental success on climate change; prioritizing opportunities to collaborate across sectors to amplify and accelerate climate solutions; discussing what can be done to galvanize momentum within each sector; and discussing resources and programs that can amplify climate leadership.
