The search has begun for students to star in the 2015 Hispanic College Quiz fall TV show

HACU is seeking Hispanic undergraduate students currently enrolled at U.S. HACU-member institutions to demonstrate their knowledge of Latino history by answering questions in a game show format for the 2015 Hispanic College Quiz produced by Central City Productions. Students compete in one of four shows for a chance to earn a scholarship.

Taping for the national broadcast of the Hispanic College Quiz show will take place on July 30 and air in the fall during Hispanic Heritage Month between Sept. 13-Oct. 19, 2015.

  • Three students will compete on each show for a total of 12 individual competitors representing their individual institutions. All participants selected will be provided a study guide.
  • Show producers Central City Productions will provide travel and accommodations for the participant and a student coach/advisor.
  • A representative/staff/faculty member of the institution must serve as coach. Coaches are institutional representatives tasked with coaching the student throughout the production and must be listed on the entry form at the time of submission.
  • An online entry must be submitted by June 21 midnight CST in order to be considered. The entry period has ended.
  • Participants selected will be notified after June 23. HACU will post the names of all participants online once the production company has confirmed all participants.
  • A conference call will be set up between advisor/coaches and the producers of the show to go over the rules and answer questions.

The purpose of the Hispanic College Quiz is to encourage the appreciation of Hispanic/Latino heritage by all people, through an entertaining quiz show format. The series is designed to generate a high level of excitement and enthusiasm by featuring Hispanic college students from around the country in a competition that showcases their knowledge and skills relative to Hispanic culture and history.
