U.S. Department of Education to host two webinars on Title V eligibility designation

As a follow up to the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ (HACU) member advisory on Dec. 4, 2015, The United States Department of Education will host two webinars outlining the new HSI designation requirements for eligibility. The department will explain how eligible institutions can substantiate their enrollment data to be identified as an eligible HSI for fiscal year 2016. Capacity is limited to 200 participants on a first-come, first-served basis on the day of the event only. Participants are advised to log in 5 to 10 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

Stipend opportunity available to Host a Town Hall Meeting to Prevent Underage and High-risk Drinking

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) invites higher education campuses and communities to host a town hall meeting addressing underage and high-risk drinking as part of the 2016 national Town Hall Meeting initiative.

Campuses and/or communities that wish to host a Town Hall Meeting may email their contact name, title, email address, and phone number. Invitees will receive notice in January 2016 and are eligible for a $500 planning stipend to plan one or more Town Hall Meetings at any time during the year.
