Students from 11 Houston-area schools were among those participating in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and U.S. Army University Tour, that took place at the University of Houston.
The HACU/U.S. Army University Tour program provides high school students the opportunity to participate - some for the first time - in campus tours to learn more about pathways to higher education. In addition to a daily tour of the university campus, students are attending workshops on admission, financial aid, campus resources and educational opportunities offered through the U.S. Army.
Additionally, 50 high school counselors and pre-college advisors were among the participants in the Counselors’ Seminar, and Region IV awarded 6.0 Continuing Education Units.
The schools participating were:
Jones Future Academy,
Stephen F. Austin High School
Lamar High School
Carl Wunshe High School
Spring High School
Wisdom High School
Spring Early College High School
Sam Houston High School
North Forest High School
Sharpstown International High School
Dekaney High School
The next HACU/US Army University Tour is scheduled for January 17-21, 2017, at University of New Mexico, Las Cruces campus.
