HACU president joins CHCI at event to bid farewell to retiring members of Congressional Board & Advisory Council

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores attended the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute's (CHCI) farewell reception in honor of the retiring Congressional Board & Advisory Council Members. The December 6, 2016, event in Washington, D.C. recognized their leadership and years of service to the country.  Members of Congress recognized include Rep. Rubén Hinojosa (TX-15), Rep. Loretta Sanchez (CA-46), and Rep. Pedro Pierluisi (PR).

On Dec. 1, Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (CA-34) announced that he will be leaving Congress to serve as Attorney General of his home state.

Chair Rep. Linda T. Sánchez and Vice Chair Cristina Antelo will also be recognized for their outstanding leadership.

The CHCI has educated, empowered, and connected the nation’s future Latino leaders through leadership development programs for nearly 40 years.

Hinojosa was recently inducted into HACU's Hall of Champions at the 30th Annual Conference, held in the Association's city of founding, San Antonio, Texas.
