HACU invites support for hurricane-impacted institutions

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) urges your prompt response to assist institutions that have been severely impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma or are under threat of further damage. HACU would like to inventory the institutional capacity of its members to receive students or faculty, or both, during the 2017-18 academic year. This would allow HACU to provide such inventory to institutions in Puerto Rico, Florida, the Texas Gulf Coast region and other affected areas.

Please click on HACU Hurricane Assistance to access an e-survey questionnaire on various key questions for HACU to document the availability of spaces, terms and conditions, and official contact staff authorized to make admission and mobility arrangements. This information will be provided by HACU to impacted institutions in a common inventory format as soon as it becomes available from all respondents. Please complete and return the attached questionnaire by Tuesday, September 12, 2017, so that the intended beneficiaries can receive this time-sensitive information as quickly as feasible.

HACU is only acting to broker this information between its member institutions with available spaces and those in dire need of them, but the institutions themselves are expected to set their own inter-institutional arrangements. With your timely help, we hope to be able to complete this task by September 15.

For additional information, please contact Alicia Martinez, Assistant VP for Programs, Services, and International Affairs, at alicia.martinez@hacu.net or (210) 576-3244.
