HACU on the Road goes to California State University, Long Beach

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores will address the state of Hispanic higher education during a HACU on the Road event on September 27, 2017, at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). HACU Executive Director of Legislative Affairs Maria Alvarez will also speak about the state-level legislative agenda for the western region. 

The event will bring together nearly 30 representatives from school districts, higher education and other organizations across California.

The HACU on the Road tour is designed to promote national and international dialogue about Hispanic higher education. The HACU on the Road is being hosted in partnership with CSULB and sponsored by Coca Cola.

Past invited guests have included chancellors and presidents of colleges and universities, superintendents of Hispanic-Serving School Districts, elected officials, corporate leaders, and other supporters of Hispanic higher education.

Similar events in previous years have taken place in Mexico City and Guanajuato, Mexico, and  Bogota, Colombia; and at Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY (N.Y.); Texas Tech University; St. Thomas University (Fla.); San Bernardino Community College District (Calif.); Maricopa County Community College District (Ariz.); Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas); Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico; University of Colorado Denver; and Northeastern Illinois University.
