Deloitte presents UTSA student with a $10,000 Student Leadership Award

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) corporate partner Deloitte presented the Jorge A. Caballero Student Leadership Award to Erick Linares, an accounting major at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) on Oct. 29 during the power lunch of HACU’s  31st Annual Conference.

The 2017 Student Leadership Award, named after Jorge A. Caballero, partner at Deloitte Tax, LLP, a $10,000 award was presented to Linares for demonstrating leadership qualities through academics and community involvement. As part of the award presentation, Monique Ortiz a former recipient of the Leadership Award, spoke about some of the challenges Linares had overcome and his career aspirations to become a CPA. Edgar Rosillo Global Mobility Tax Manager accepted a token of appreciation on behalf of Deloitte for their conference sponsorship and ongoing partnership with HACU.
