HACU, KIA Motors America, Inc. announce scholarship recipients

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and corporate partner KIA Motors America, Inc. have announced ten students from HACU-member institution will receive scholarships for 2017-18 school year. A total of $34,000 in scholarships will be awarded.

The recipients of the KIA Motors America, Inc., scholarships awards of $3,400 each are:

  • Ernesto Gonzalez, California State University, Chico, agriculture education major
  • Laura Zamudio, Florida International University, mathematics education major
  • Patricia Jaimes, Michigan State University, earth and environmental sciences major
  • Jessica Chauca, Queens College, Latin American studies/elementary education major
  • Nathaly Miraval, San Diego State University, public health major
  • Ernesto Farias, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, political science and Mexican American studies major
  • Sergio Rosas, University of California, Irvine, urban and regional planning major
  • Marina Quintanilla, University of California, Los Angeles, public health major
  • Melissa Avila, Virginia Commonwealth University, clinical psychology major
  • Alejandro Martinez, Washington University in St. Louis, mental health major
