HACU and Southwest Airlines ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Program announce the student recipients

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) and Southwest Airlines (SWA) have announced 100 college students will receive Southwest Airlines E-passes, as part of the SWA ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Program. For a complete list of all student recipients and their colleges and universities, click here.

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores said the program has made it possible for Hispanic families to visit their college student on campus, and for students to go back home to visit during holiday breaks.

“The feedback received each year from the recipients demonstrate the importance of family visits for the educational success of college students,” says HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “HACU applauds Southwest Airlines for their unwavering commitment to higher education success. The Southwest Airlines, ¡Lánzate! Travel Program has made a positive impact on the college experience of students who have benefited from the flights, many who might not have been able to make the visits back home were it not for the travel awards.”

The awardees were selected from students across the nation who submitted essays under the theme "Dándole Alas a Tu Exito/Giving Flight to Your Success," detailing how the travel award would help them achieve their goal to pursue higher education.

The "Lánzate/Take Off" Education Travel Program, in its twelfth year, awarded a total of 249 tickets among the 2017 recipients.
