HACU’s Corporate and Philanthropic Council vice chair, new member announced

Jorge Caballero, senior partner of Deloitte Tax LLP, was recently named vice-chair of the Corporate and Philanthropic Council (C&PC) of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU). Caballero succeeds Jim Fjelstul, senior vice president of Sodexo who completed his term as vice chair in 2017.

Caballero is a CPA with over 38 years of professional experience serving large multinational clients in a variety of industries including consumer business, energy and resources, financial services, manufacturing and technology. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in accounting and graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University. He completed an executive training program at the Kellogg School of Management – Northwestern University.

New to the Council is Mike Aguilera, director of global diversity for education at Sodexo. Aguilera previously served as director of business development in the Southeast US. He is the former national co-chair for the Sodexo Organization of Latinos. Aguilera has more than 19 years in sales, management, trade marketing and diversity services. He earned a master’s degree in international business from Nova Southeastern University, and a bachelor’s degree in management and international business from Florida International University

The C&PC advises and supports HACU in its engagement of private-sector corporations to advance its mission of Championing Hispanic Success in Higher Education. A key advisory group, the Council helps HACU develop business partnerships and enhances philanthropic support at local and national levels. The Council includes representatives from companies who share an interest in diversity and Hispanic higher education.
