HACU president to be keynote speaker at the ACUP Forum
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) President and CEO Antonio R. Flores will be the keynote speaker at the Association of Private Colleges and Universities of Puerto Rico (ACUP) Forum on March 15, 2018, at the Universidad lnteramericana Metropolitan Campus in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The Forum themed “Nuestra Recuperación está en Ia Educación: Solidarios en una Nueva Visión” will address the impact of the recent hurricanes in the higher education sector of Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
After Hurricane Maria, HACU member institutions on the mainland were among those who responded to a call for help to assist students and faculty displaced by the hurricane. Information on these effort is posted here.
Flores recently visited Puerto Rico, where he met with representatives from the Department of State, presidents from Puerto Rico universities and the Puerto Rico Tourism Company to discuss collaborative efforts for bringing HACU’s 13th International Conference to the island. The Conference is scheduled to take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, in 2019.
