HACU announces workshops for its premier conference on Hispanic higher education, Atlanta, GA, Oct. 6-8, 2018

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced the workshops for its 32nd Annual Conference, Oct. 6-8, 2018 in Atlanta, GA. More than 50 workshops in six tracks will be featured under the theme "Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Building America's Future." Other events include a town hall, career fair and pre-and post-conference events during HACU’s premier conference on Hispanic higher education taking place at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis.

The general conference workshop sessions will address issues of importance to Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and emerging HSIs. Topics include study abroad, STEM, grant writing, federal funding opportunities, best practices from HSIs, Hispanic-Serving School Districts, and institutions and organizations dedicated to serving Hispanic and other minority student populations.

The Student Track, regularly offered at the Annual Conference, now renamed the "HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute" will offer undergraduate students a three-day career development and networking symposium focused on building their career skills. Students will attend panel presentations, workshops, luncheons, a town hall meeting and also meet with conference exhibitors and recruiters. Scholarships are also available for students. Among the pre-conference events on Oct. 6 are the 17th Annual Latino Higher Education Leadership Institute and the Fourth PreK-12/Higher Education Collaboration Symposium. The Seventh Annual Deans' Forum on Hispanic Higher Education will be offered on October 9.
