Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week to be observed, Sept. 17-23, 2018

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) has announced National Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) week will be observed Sept. 17-23, 2018. The observance takes place during National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated Sept. 15-Oct. 15.

Each year, HACU government relations staff works with members of Congress to recognize the contributions of HSIs in their communities.

HACU member HSIs are encouraged to observe the week with campus activities to heighten awareness of the important role HSIs play in improving access to education and advancing equity for traditionally underserved students.

Updates will be posted online and on HACU social media. HSIs are encouraged to share their plans to celebrate National HSIs Week. Tag @HACUNews on Twitter or Facebook. Use hashtag #HSIs, or email, news@hacu.net.
