HACU and Southwest Airlines ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Program announce student recipients
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities and Southwest Airlines have announced 150 college students will receive Southwest Airlines E-passes, as part of the SWA ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Travel Higher Education Award Program. The program was designed to help Hispanic college students stay connected with their family during the school year.
“For the past 14 years the Southwest Airlines ¡Lánzate! Travel Program has contributed to Hispanic success in higher education,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “Many college students would not have been able to visit their families were it not for the travel awards received from Southwest Airlines. HACU is proud to partner with Southwest Airlines and we congratulate the student recipients and Southwest Airlines for giving flight to success in higher education.”
The awardees were selected from students across the nation who submitted essays under the theme "Dándole Alas a Tu Exito/Giving Flight to Your Success," about how the travel award would help them achieve their goal to pursue higher education.
The ¡Lánzate!/Take Off! Higher Education Travel Program, in its fourteenth year, awarded more than 400 tickets among the 2018 recipients. For a complete list of all student recipients and their colleges and universities, click here. Click here to read the official press release.
