The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities President and CEO Antonio R. Flores will be the keynote speaker at the Midwestern Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) and Emerging HSIs Summit on November 15, 2018, at the Wilbur Wright College in Chicago, IL.

The Summit will address the theme “What Midwestern HSIs and EHSIs are doing to strengthen the relationships with the Latino communities they serve.”  The presenters will also explore the meaning of being an HSI, the roles of faculty and academic leaders, and ways these institutions are engaging with the diverse Latino/a communities.

Flores’ keynote address will be followed with presentations by Kyle Westbrook, executive director of the Partnership for College Completion; Ignacio Lopez, Ed.D., president of Harold Washington College; and David Potash, Ph.D., president of Wilbur Wright College. Rene Rosenbaum, professor at Michigan State University, and Stephen Jeanetta, professor at University of Missouri, will also present their research on Midwestern HSIs and EHSIs.

This is the first summit to focus on what Midwestern colleges and universities are doing to serve these students and their communities. A webinar will also be available for individuals that would like to join the session on research findings from 3-5 p.m. CT. Additional information is available here.
