HACU president and CEO Antonio R. Flores named among Latino Leaders’ list of most influential Latinos of 2018

HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores was named one of “The 2018 101 Most Influential Latinos” in Latino Leaders Magazine’s September/October issue. This list includes leaders in eight categories: culture, voices, business, sports, community, government, science, and finances. Flores was recognized for his contributions to the Hispanic higher education community.  

In the article’s introduction, the magazine describes the individuals listed as having “changed the narrative for Latinos” through actions that “have resonated through communities, companies, and societies.”

As part of the recognition, Flores also joined other leaders on November 8, 2018, at a gathering held in Washington, D.C., by Latino Leaders Magazine. The executive luncheon provided an opportunity to share and discuss some of the most relevant needs of the Latino community. The leaders shared ideas, challenges, and visions relevant to advancing the U.S. Latino community.



  

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, founded in 1986, represents more than 500 colleges and universities in the United States, Latin America, Spain, and school districts throughout the U.S. HACU is the only national association representing existing and emerging Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs). The Association’s headquarters are in San Antonio, Texas, with regional offices in Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, California.
