Approximately 60 college students are among those who have started, or will soon begin, internships with HACU’s National Internship Program. Due to the partial government shutdown at least 60 other college students selected for the program were unable to begin their spring internship assignments.
Students unaffected by the partial government shutdown are serving internships at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Library of Congress, National Institute of Health-Clinical Center, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, and United States Mint.
Interns unable to start their internships were those selected to serve at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the National Science Foundation. The majority of the students are serving internships in the D.C. metro area. Among those participating in spring internship session are college students from the following institutions. Click here for a list of students.
