HACU internships are available at U.S. Department of Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM)

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is accepting applications for its HACU National Internship Program. The summer application deadline has been extended to March 1, 2019. Fall internships are also available with an application deadline of June 7, 2019.

At least 70 positions are available at the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Upon successful completion of the 11-week internship and completion of the student’s degree, the interns placed by HACU can be hired by BLM through its direct hire authority.

Eligible college students and recent graduates can apply for the upcoming summer session at www.hacu.net/hnip.

The internship opportunities are part of the contract awarded to HACU for the internship program sessions through 2021.

Applicants majoring in the following fields are encouraged to apply:

  • Botany and Environmental Science
  • Conservation Management
  • Ecology
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Geography
  • Geography Geology
  • Hydrology
  • Natural Resource Management
  • Natural Science
  • Pre-Law
  • Range Science and Management.
