HACU announces workshops for its premier conference on Hispanic higher education, Chicago, Illinois, Oct. 5-7, 2019

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has announced more than 50 workshops, will be offered as part of its 33rd Annual Conference, "Championing Hispanic Higher Education Success: Meeting the Challenge of Prosperity and Equality," Oct. 5-7, 2019, at the Hilton Chicago, in Illinois. HACU’s premier conference on Hispanic higher education will also include a Town Hall, Exhibit Hall, College and Career Fair and Pre-and Post-conference events.

The Student Track offered in conjunction with the conference as the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute will offer undergraduate students a three-day career development and networking symposium. Students will attend panel presentations, workshops, luncheons, a town hall meeting and meet with conference exhibitors and recruiters. Limited scholarships are available for undergraduate students. The general conference workshop sessions will address issues of importance to Hispanic-Serving Institutions and emerging HSIs under six tracks: grants and fundraising opportunities; Partnerships that work; Executive leadership for presidents, CEOs, and trustees; Championing academic success for Hispanic students, research and practice; Advocacy and policy; and International partnerships.

On Oct. 5, HACU pre-conference events will include the 18th Annual Latino Higher Education Leadership Institute and the Fifth PreK-12/Higher Education Collaboration Symposium. On Oct. 8, the Eighth Annual Deans' Forum on Hispanic Higher Education will focus on the topic of “How institutions are increasing equity and driving economic and social mobility.”
