HACU International Plenary to focus on exchanges, dual degree programs, joint research projects

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities will present an International Plenary on, "International Partnerships: Joint and Dual Degree Programs, Faculty/Student Exchanges, Joint Research Projects and More," Oct. 7, 2019, 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., as part of its 33rd Annual Conference taking place at the Hilton Chicago, in Chicago, Illinois.

The plenary will feature a panel discussion on successful international partnerships. Panelists will highlight the effective strategies their institutions have employed to develop joint and dual degree programs and discuss how they overcame challenges. The panel discussion will also focus on culturally competent approaches to increase student and faculty exchanges, specifically participation in study or teaching abroad by underrepresented minorities.

The plenary will be moderated by Carlos Vargas, Ph.D., president, Southeast Missouri State University. Speakers will include Julio Cañero Serrano, Ph.D., vice president for international relations, Universidad de Alcalá; Dale LaFleur, Ph.D., senior director of international partnerships, The University of Arizona; and Lisa J. Montoya, Ph.D., vice provost for global initiatives & senior international officer, The University of Texas at San Antonio.

The deadline to register online is September 20, 2019.  On-site registrations will be available if conference is not sold out before then.
