Five students receive scholarships to HACU’s Annual Conference, as part of the Emerging Leaders Summit

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities hosted an Emerging Leaders Summit focused on preparing students for internships and career opportunities on Sept. 17, 2019, at Concordia University Texas. The one-day event held at the Concordia campus in Austin, Texas, brought together over 100 local students from 18 colleges and universities to network with professionals and corporate representatives.

Among the students in attendance were those majoring in STEM, business, communications and marketing fields. The students received tips on resume writing, interviewing skills, and securing internship opportunities.

Five participants of the Summit received scholarships to attend the 2019 HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute (Student Track) taking place in Chicago, Illinois on Oct. 5-7, in conjunction with HACU’s Annual Conference.

The following students received the conference scholarships:

  • Concordia University Texas - Alejandro Salazar
  • Our Lady of the Lake University - Viridiana Mejia Montez
  • Palo Alto College - Jonathan Martinez Valdez
  • Texas A&M University - San Antonio - Gustavo De La Fuente
  • University of the Incarnate Word - Sara Sifuentes
