SAN ANTONIO - The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to announce the appointment of a fellow from its Leadership Academy/ La Academia de Liderazgo to university president.

The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees has appointed Saúl Jiménez-Sandoval, Ph.D., to serve as the ninth president of California State University, Fresno. He currently serves as interim president of Fresno State. Jiménez-Sandoval will immediately assume the campus presidency.

Jiménez-Sandoval received his doctorate from the University of California, Irvine and has a professional certificate from Cornell University’s School of Critical Theory. He is a fellow of the 2019-2020 inaugural cohort of HACU’s Leadership Academy/La Academia de Liderazgo, a one-year program designed to prepare the next generation of culturally diverse leaders for executive and senior level positions in higher education.
