HACU statement on President Biden’s nomination of Ken Salazar for Ambassador to Mexico

SAN ANTONIO – The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities has released the following statement on the White House nomination of Ken Salazar for Ambassador to Mexico.

“The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities commends President Joe Biden on his selection of Ken Salazar as nominee for Ambassador to Mexico,” said HACU President and CEO Antonio R. Flores. “He has been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform. His extensive experience in the government and private sectors make him the ideal choice to serve as Ambassador to Mexico.”

Ken Salazar served as the 50th United States Secretary of the Interior and Colorado United States Senator and State Attorney General. Salazar became the first Hispanic American from Colorado to serve in the U.S. Senate. Salazar is a partner at WilmerHale, an international law firm. He received a JD degree from the University of Michigan and a political science degree from Colorado College.

“HACU pledges its support to ensure Salazar’s confirmation by the U.S. Senate,” added Flores.
