HSIs receive STEM grants from U.S. Department of Education, National Science Foundation

The National Science Foundation Awards $36 Million to HSIs under Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: HSI Program

The National Science Foundation’s (NSF) Improving Undergraduate STEM Education: Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program (HSI Program) awarded 49 grants to Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) in Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 totaling approximately $36 million, to support various projects.

The goals of the NSF’s HSI program are to enhance the quality of undergraduate science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education and to increase the recruitment, retention, and graduation rates of students pursuing associate's or baccalaureate degrees in STEM.

The HSI program supports proposals for conferences addressing critical challenges in undergraduate STEM education and broadening STEM participation.
