HACU college students to participate in the first “Know Your Heritage: Hispanic College Quiz” game show series

San Antonio, TX- Central City Productions has announced the colleges and universities that will participate in the first annual “Know Your Heritage: Hispanic College Quiz” game show series. The participating teams are all from member institutions of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).

The “Know Your Heritage: Hispanic College Quiz” series will be 4-half hour quiz shows which will feature Hispanic college students answering a series of multiple-choice questions on Latino history. Teams of four students with one alternate from each of the following institutions will participate in this game show series:

  • Whittier College - Whittier, CA
  • Saint Peter's College - Jersey City, NJ
  • San Diego State University - San Diego, CA
  • University of Houston - Victoria - Victoria, TX
  • East Los Angeles College - Monterey Park, CA
  • New Mexico State University - Las Cruces, NM
  • Our Lady of Lake University - San Antonio, TX
  • City Colleges of Chicago - Chicago, IL

The intent of the series is: (1) to promote positive images of Latino students on television; (2) to foster greater knowledge of Hispanic culture by sharing information about it; and (3) to inspire people of all ages to have an appreciation for the Latino contributions to the way of life all Americans (and citizens of other nations) take pride in and relish. The series will consist of 4 half hour quiz shows, hosted by NBC news anchor Zoraida Sambolin. They will air across the country during Hispanic Heritage Month, September 15 – October 15, 2008.
