Antonio Flores participates on panel discussion on minority higher education issues

Antonio Flores, CEO and President of HACU, was among the panel members at the 2009 Council on Foundations Annual Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia, from May 4-6, 2009. Flores participated on a panel session titled, “Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs): Doing Heavy Lifting to Make Fair Access to Higher Education a Reality,” on May 6.

The intent of the session was to foster a dialogue about minority higher education issues and the contribution that MSIs make to ensure equity and excellence in education. Panelists discussed efforts of minority-serving institutions of higher education to provide minority and low-income students access to higher education success. Presentations included discussions on mission, achievement and challenges faced by MSIs and how foundations can help support their vital work.
