HACU joins “ya es hora ¡HAGASE CONTAR!”Campaign

Campaign urges Latinos to participate in 2010 Census

HACU has partnered to support “ya es hora ¡HAGASE CONTAR!” (It’s Time to Make Yourself Count) to promote the importance of the 2010 Census. The ya es hora ¡HAGASE CONTAR! Campaign is a coalition of national and local Latino organizations and Spanish-language media working to inform and motivate the nearly 50 million U.S. Latinos to fully participate in the 2010 Census.  The campaign also seeks to reduce any fears the Latino community has about participating in the upcoming Census and increase the mail return rate of Latino households by providing accessible information and assistance through the Census counting process.

The National Hotline (888-Ve-y-Vota) can assist persons with questions on naturalization and for referrals. The www.yaeshora.info Web site can guide applicants through the naturalization process and provides access to the N-400 form and other helpful information, including the latest list of workshops.
