White House officials brief HACU interns

On Aug. 11, a group of more than 100 HACU summer interns participating in the HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) were briefed by White House officials.

The speakers discussed their work, their personal journey and background, and urged the interns to pursue their dreams and continue aiming for the highest goals and to give back to the Hispanic community.

Among the participants were: Cecilia Munoz, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs; Adolfo Carrion, Director of Urban Affairs; Moises Vela, Director of Administration for Vice President Joe Biden; Michael Camunez, Special Assistant to the President, Presidential Personnel; Nancy Sutley, Director, White House Office of Environmental Quality; Cynthia Hogan, Chief Counsel to the Vice President who spearheaded Sonia Sotomayor’s nomination process; and, Frank DiGiammarino, Deputy Coordinator for Recovery Implementation who is currently leading implementation of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).

Vela hosted the meeting.

HNIP summer 2009 interns were briefed by White House officials on Aug. 11.
