New partnership to provide paid student internships in pharmaceutical sales

HACU is proud to announce a new corporate partnership with Eli Lilly that will offer qualified students paid internships in pharmaceutical sales. Beginning summer 2010, Eli Lilly, a leading research-based pharmaceutical company based in Indianapolis, Indiana, will offer several nationwide opportunities as part of the HACU National Internship Program.

Interns selected will receive a rigorous 2-week sales training program. Duties will include a variety of responsibilities from promoting Lilly’s products to healthcare professionals, and conducting analysis on product & market trends, developing territory business plans to coordinating efforts with territory partners.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, 2008-09, “Pharmaceutical manufacturing companies prefer to hire college graduates, particularly those with strong scientific backgrounds. In addition to a 4-year degree, most newly employed pharmaceutical sales representatives complete rigorous formal training programs revolving around their company’s product lines.”

Students who apply to the HACU National Internship Program are automatically considered for the internship that best matches selection criteria and educational background. Students applying to 2010 summer internships are encouraged to apply by the early deadline of October 1, 2009. For more internship information, click here
