HACU on the Road tour heads to New Mexico

The HACU on the Road tour made a visit to Albuquerque, NM, on September 22. The event, hosted by the University of New Mexico (UNM), was attended by local education leaders and supporters of Hispanic higher education.

“It is particularly fitting to gather at UNM during National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, as proclaimed by Congress.” said HACU President and CEO Antonio Flores. UNM is one of 15 HACU-member institutions in New Mexico designated as Hispanic-Serving Institutions.

“The University of New Mexico is a proud member of HACU, and I have the privilege of serving on their governing board,” said UNM President David J. Schmidly. “We are pleased that New Mexico is one of the stops for HACU's tour of major metropolitan areas across the country with high percentages of Hispanics.”

HACU on the Road will be visiting Denver September 29 and then will make six stops in California beginning with San Diego November 12.  For other California dates, visit the HACU on the Road Web site (click here).
