Flores to participate at Latino Round Table Policy Summit

HACU President and CEO Antonio Flores will be a featured guest speaker at Responding to a Call of Urgency: Latino Round Table Policy Summit on Higher Education. Registration is underway, for the event taking place July 11-13, 2010, Embassy Suites Hotel, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Click here to download the Summit agenda.

The goal of the summit is to yield a series of recommendations to be published and distributed nationally to key policymakers, educational and business leaders, community representatives and interested stakeholders.

Issues to be discussed at the Summit, include:
• Hispanic Serving Institutions, HSI Funding, Financial Aid Polices, Practices and Institutional Accountability
• The Dream Act and Immigration Reform and the Role Associations have in influencing The Dream Act
• Ameliorating the Latino/a Leadership, Faculty Underrepresented Pipeline in Higher Education
• Strategies for Strengthening Philanthropic, Public and Private Sector Funding Resources for Latino Initiatives

The Summit is hosted by the University of New Mexico in collaboration with the University of Houston-Downtown, the University of Michigan, the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good and the Sereno Group, Inc.
