HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute (Student Track)

For Colleges and Universities

National and international leaders will gather in Orlando, FL October 31-November 2, 2020 to champion equity and excellence for Hispanic students in higher education. HACU invites you to send one or more student delegates to the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute.  

Campus students represent their college or university to hundreds of students, faculty, administrators and leading corporate, federal, and nonprofit sector representatives who will attend this conference. In addition to ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute activities, these students will also attend the opening plenary; the Town Hall meeting that will address critical national issues; and the networking dinner.

ELIGIBILITY

Students must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. The selection criteria and number of students selected is at the discretion of the sponsoring organization but we recommend the following criteria:

  • Undergraduate student
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Leadership roles/experience
  • Study Abroad experience
  • Type of in demand majors from corporate, federal and non-profits:
    • Business - Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Economics, Finance, International Business, Marketing
    • Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) - Agriculture, Biochemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Engineering, Environmental Science, Food Science, Information Systems and Technology, Mathematics, Nutritional Science, Physics, Wildlife Science
    • Others - Communications, Criminal Justice, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Political Science

HOW TO REGISTER YOUR STUDENTS:

OPTION 1: 

Institutions handle their own student registration for the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute. The cost below is the cost of student registration only. All travel and hotel arrangements are handled directly by the institution. 

Institutions can register students online at www.hacu.net . All students must submit a registration form. Registration may close prior to deadline if the event sells out.

(Includes a box lunch on day one, a general conference luncheon on day two and three, and a networking dinner on day three)

Early Bird Rate Deadline: May 31, 2020

 $300 per student 

Regular Rate Deadline: Oct.16, 2020

 $390 per student

OPTION 2: 

If you are interested in being recognized as an ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute Sponsor and HACU handling all logistics for your students, please contact HACU Student Services Department by e-mail at studenttrack@hacu.net or by calling 210-692-3805. The following rates will apply:

Student Scholars Package

Deadline: September 14, 2020

September 15-September 30, 2020

Local Orlando area undergraduate student (Price includes registration and hotel parking)

$500 per student

$525 per student

Regional Orlando Area undergraduate students (Price includes registration, four night accommodations and parking

$1,000 per student

$1,100 per student

Undergraduate students from outside Orlando (Price includes registration, airfare and four night accommodations)

$1,500 per student

$1,700 per student

 

The Student Scholars Package includes:

  • ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute student scholar registration (includes a networking breakfast on days one, two and three, a box lunch on day one, a general conference luncheon on day two and three, and a networking dinner on day three)
  • Round-trip U.S. airfare for national students. Local Orlando area students receive paid parking.
  • Four night hotel accommodations (paired with another student scholar). Local Orlando area students will commute daily to the conference site.  
  • A HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute packet which includes, preparation guidelines, travel itinerary and contact information for ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute staff.
  • A Student Scholar sponsor identification for students to wear along with their conference badge
  • A group photo with representatives from their college/university or corporation

PLEASE NOTE: Only those institutions that submit their agreements and logos by September 14, 2020 will be acknowledged as sponsors of "student scholars" in the printed annual conference program and related conference signage.

*Resumes will be included in the 2020 Resume Portfolio that will be provided to Gold level conference sponsors or above and ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute workshop presenters. All Student resumes must be received by October 9, 2020 to be included.

 HACU reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event by HACU, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. HACU may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, magazines, website, etc...

A person attending a HACU event who does not wish to have their image taken or recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer, and/or the event organizers. 

By participating in a HACU event or by failing to notify HACU, your desire to not have your photograph used by HACU, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify HACU from any and all claims involving the use of your picture
