What is the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute?

The HACU conference annually hosts a student track component that brings together over 700 undergraduate students from across the United States and Puerto Rico. Known as the HACU ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, the program is conducted over the course of three days with workshops focused on leadership and professional development. The program also incorporates several networking opportunities for students, employers, graduate schools representatives to exchange ideas and strengthen their professional network. 

Are there Sponsorships Available to Attend?

A limited number of sponsorships are available to eligible students to attend the ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute, offered in conjunction with HACU's Annual Conference. ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute sponsorships cover costs for the conference participation. Sponsorship recipients are required to attend ALL ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute activities.

Sponsorship Eligibility:

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Have not received a HACU Conference Sponsorship for the 2023 Annual Conference
  • Must be enrolled at a college or university in the Fall 2024
  • Must be willing to be sponsored by a corporate, federal, or nonprofit sponsor

Students must be interested in becoming a HACU Leader-in-Residence to receive the sponsorship and attend the conference. Click here to access the HACU Leader-in-Residence application.

Things to Remember:

Incomplete applications will not be considered. Conference sponsorships are awarded based on criteria set by HACU's 38th Annual Conference Sponsors (e.g., geographic preference, major, etc.).  Applicants will be notified by e-mail of their selection or non-selection during the summer and fall of 2024.  Sponsorships are very limited. Students are encouraged to consider alternate methods of funding their participation in the conference such as being sponsored by their college or university. HACU reserves the right to use any photograph/video taken at any event by HACU, without the expressed written permission of those included within the photograph/video. HACU may use the photograph/video in publications or other media material produced, used including but not limited to: brochures, invitations, magazines, website, etc.A person attending a HACU event who does not wish to have their image taken or recorded for distribution should make their wishes known to the photographer, and/or the event organizers. By participating in a HACU event or by failing to notify HACU, your desire to not have your photograph used by HACU, you are agreeing to release, defend, hold harmless and indemnify HACU from any and all claims involving the use of your picture.
