The State Bar of California’s mission is to protect the public and includes the primary functions of licensing, regulation and discipline of attorneys; the advancement of the ethical and competent practice of law; and the promotion of efforts for greater access to, and inclusion in, the legal system. The State Bar Office of Access & Inclusion encompasses the critical work of increasing access to legal services, through IOLTA and Equal Access Fund grant administration and policymaking as well as increasing inclusion and diversity of the legal profession, through data, policymaking, rule making and coordination and liaison efforts.
