Programs / Emerging Leaders Summit 

The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) hosts Regional Summits focused on preparing students for leadership roles and internships within high-demand fields including: science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), finance, accounting, business, communications and marketing fields. The HACU Emerging Leaders Summit will take place on Friday, May 11, 2018, at York College, CUNY. 

Students participate in a one-day summit with leadership and career preparation workshops and panels.  If selected, complimentary registration will include morning and lunch meals and free parking.  Students will also engage with HACU corporate partners that are recruiting for employment opportunities.  FIVE (5) Student Track scholarships will be awarded to attend HACU's 32nd Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, in October 6-8, 2018. The scholarship includes hotel, round-trip airfare, and conference registration (must be present at event to receive award).



Summit Objectives

  • Learn about career opportunities from industry professionals
  • Gain tips on securing internship opportunities
  • Receive feedback on improving your resume, interviewing and networking skills
  • Meet and interact with successful professionals from leading corporations

Program Eligibility

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Undergraduate students enrolled at an institution of higher education within an 80 mile radius 
  • STEM majors (including computer science, information technology, management information systems, Engineering, etc.), Finance, Accounting, Business, Communications, and Marketing Fields.

  • 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. 
  • Breakfast and Lunch provided
  • Free parking 
  • 5 Student Track Conference scholarships to attend HACU's 32nd Annual Conference in Atlanta, GA.
