UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS

 

The Core Fulbright Scholar Program offers over 470 teaching, research or combination teaching/research awards in over 130 countries. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others. Fulbright U.S. Scholar - The 2020-2021 competition for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program will open in February 2019!  The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program offered teaching, research and combination teaching/research awards in 137 countries for the 2019-2020 academic year. Opportunities are available for college and university faculty and administrators as well as for professionals, artists, journalists, scientists, lawyers, independent scholars and many others.  We have many resources available to applicants, including a robust series of webinars. The U.S. Department of State's Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program will soon open its online application for students participating in credit-bearing study abroad programs and international internships during the summer 2019 and fall/academic year 2019-20 terms.  The Gilman Scholarship Program is an undergraduate grant program for U.S. citizens of limited financial means to enable them to study abroad, thereby internationalizing their outlook and better preparing them to thrive in the global economy. The Teach & Learn in Spain Program at Instituto Franklin-Universidad de Alcalá is a practical, one year graduate experience specifically designed for native English-speaking students who want to complete a MA Program while serving as Language Assistants in bilingual schools of the Madrid area.  Students can choose one of the following programs:

STUDY ABROAD OPPORTUNITIES

 

IES Abroad Customized & Faculty-Led Programs is excited to announce our Faculty-Led Program Award!
Between now and October 12, 2018, full-time university faculty can submit their STEM-related program ideas for the chance to win a $15,000 or $5,000 (runner up) award to make their IES Abroad program into a reality.
How It Works:.1. Submit your program idea by October 12, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. CDT: 2. All submissions will be judged by a panel of IES Abroad Academics Department staff:  3.One winner ($15,000) and one runner up ($5,000) will be chosen by and announced no later than October 26, 2018.  For more information please click here(Posted September 20, 2018)

The 100,000 Strong in the Americas Innovation Fund is pleased to announce the opening of the 2018 ExxonMobil Competition for Study Abroad Innovations in Engineering, Physics, Geology, and Geophysics! Global Learning Semesters (GLS) - GLS offers HACU-member institutions the excellent AbroadOffice software that is now being used by over twenty universities to administer their study abroad programs.  AbroadOffice is a FREE software service provided by Global Semesters as a capacity-building endeavor to help advance the field of study abroad. AbroadOffice was initially developed during a joint initiative between HACU (the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities) and Global Semesters with the objective of promoting study abroad for Hispanic students. DiversityAbroad.com and Semester at Sea are proud to offer four scholarships per voyage (Fall and Spring), which include a $5,000 tuition credit in addition to the cost of your flight. SEMESTER AT SEA’S HACU VIDEO BLOGGING SCHOLARSHIP. Website: www.semesteratsea.org
This scholarship is open to current full-time students enrolled at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) that are members of the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU). SAS will select one HSI/HACU scholar for each voyage to receive a $10,000 grant to be used towards SAS program fees. Scholars will be required to video blog after each port throughout their voyage to share their in-port and shipboard experiences with future voyagers and the SAS community! INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ADVANCEMENT AWARDS. Website: www.semesteratsea.org
This scholarship ($1,500 - $10,000) is intended to help international students who study outside of the US. This aid is awarded based on academic achievement, leadership experience, and financial need. Students are asked how they will participate in the shipboard community in order to help bypass barriers between cultures and to facilitate a respectful and inclusive environment. The HACU-AIFS Scholarship is available for outstanding Hispanic students attending a HACU-member institution. Scholarships cover 50% of the AIFS all-inclusive program fee. Students must meet all standard AIFS eligibility requirements. Application, essay and other required documents must be submitted by March 1 for the summer session. April 15 for academic year/fall quarter/fall semester, and Sept. 15 for spring quarter/spring semester. Castilian and Leones Institute of the Language Foundation - SPANISH LANGUAGE COURSES FOR FOREIGNERS 
Courses for Foreigners throughout the year, at all levels, for individuals as well as groups, courses which allow students to become totally immersed in the Spanish language, courses for specific professions and courses for training Teachers. OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) is the largest virtual internship program in the world!  This year we will offer 1,500 positions with 50+ federal agencies.  VSFS offers unique mentoring and exposure to job opportunities within the U.S. government.  Each year, applications are open to U.S. college students during the entire month of July on USAJOBS.gov.  For more information, please click here(Posted July 12, 2018)

SIELE is the International Spanish Language Evaluation Service which certifies electronically the command of the Spanish language. SIELE is developed by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Students and professionals take this examination in order to obtain a certification that will strengthen their academic and professional profile. SIELE is managed by Telefónica Educación Digital.
