The U.S. Department of State's Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program is pleased to announce that the online application is open for students participating in credit-bearing study abroad programs and international internships during the summer 2017 and fall/academic year 2017-18 terms.  The Gilman Scholarship Program is an undergraduate grant program for U.S. citizens of limited financial means to enable them to study abroad, thereby internationalizing their outlook and better preparing them to thrive in the global economy. The Teach & Learn in Spain Program at Instituto Franklin-Universidad de Alcalá is a practical, one year graduate experience specifically designed for native English-speaking students who want to complete a MA Program while serving as Language Assistants in bilingual schools of the Madrid area.  Students can choose one of the following programs:

100,00 Strong in the Americas - The U.S.-Peru Innovation Competition, supported by CAF: Development Bank of Latin America and the U.S. Department of State, seeks to promote the internationalization of Peruvian and U.S. colleges and universities through joint collaboration and initiatives that increase study abroad and training opportunities for diverse student populations.  Eligibility: All higher education institutions in Peru, including vocational and technical colleges, and higher education institutions in the U.S. are eligible to apply.  Fields:  Institutions must propose a study abroad program in the following areas:

           STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math)
           Environmental Sciences
           Climate Change

Global Learning Semesters (GLS) GLS through an agreement offers HACU-member institutions the excellent Abroad Office software that is now being used by over twenty universities to administer their study abroad programs.  AbroadOffice is a FREE software service provided by Global Semesters as a capacity building endeavor to help advance the field of study abroad. AbroadOffice was initially developed during a joint initiative between HACU (the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities)  and Global Semesters with the objective of promoting study abroad for Hispanic students.    For more information, please click here. DIVERSITYABROAD.COM & SEMESTER AT SEA SCHOLARSHIPS. Website: and Semester at Sea are proud to offer four scholarships per voyage (Fall and Spring), which include a $5,000 tuition credit in addition to the cost of your flight. This scholarship is for members of the Diversity Abroad community - so sign up now if you haven’t already! Preference will be given to students from diverse backgrounds (African-American/Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, Students with Disabilities, First Generation, Hispanic/Latino, Low-Income, LGBTQ, Native American, Multiracial). This scholarship is open to current full-time students enrolled at Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) that are members of the Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities (HACU). SAS will select one HSI/HACU scholar for each voyage to receive a $10,000 grant to be used towards SAS program fees. Scholars will be required to video blog after each port throughout their voyage to share their in-port and shipboard experiences with future voyagers and the SAS community! This scholarship ($1,500 - $10,000) is intended to help international students who study outside of the US. This aid is awarded based on academic achievement, leadership experience, and financial need. Students are asked how they will participate in the shipboard community in order to help bypass barriers between cultures and to facilitate a respectful and inclusive environment. The HACU-AIFS Scholarship is available for outstanding Hispanic students attending a HACU-member institution. Scholarships cover 50% of the AIFS all-inclusive program fee. Students must meet all standard AIFS eligibility requirements. Application, essay and other required documents must be submitted by March 1 for the summer session. April 15 for academic year/fall quarter/fall semester, and Sept. 15 for spring quarter/spring semester. SIELE is the International Spanish Language Evaluation Service which certifies electronically the command of the Spanish language. SIELE is developed by the Instituto Cervantes, the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, the Universidad de Salamanca and the Universidad de Buenos Aires. Students and professionals take this examination in order to obtain a certification that will strengthen their academic and professional profile. SIELE is managed by Telefónica Educación Digital.
