The HACU Scholarship Program 2018-2019 application is OPEN

 The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities is pleased to offer scholarship opportunities to assist in defraying some of your college expenditures. Please review each scholarship’s criteria carefully to see if you qualify. 

Additional scholarship opportunities will be added as they become available prior to the fall 2018 semester. 

In addition, all scholarship applicants MUST meet the following criteria:

  1. Demonstrate financial need if required by scholarship sponsor (typically determined by FAFSA).
  2. Meet specific criteria for the scholarships to which they are applying.
  3. Must attend a HACU-member college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico at the time applications are completed and scholarship awards are made. Students transferring schools, the school must also be a HACU-member to be eligible to apply.  For the most up-to-date listing of HACU member institutions, please click here.

  5. Scholarships are ONLY for enrolled college students. All students must have completed their first semester of freshman year at the time of applying. High School students are not eligible to apply

Big Red ¡Avance! Scholarship - $1,000

  • Full-time undergraduate or graduate student
  • Must be attending a four-year HACU-member institution within the U.S. or Puerto Rico
  • Open to ALL majors
  • Cumulative GPA: 3.0 or higher
  • U.S. Citizen
  • First generation students strongly encouraged to apply

Application deadline: May 25, 2018 11:59 p.m. CST


 InGenesis Diversity Leadership Scholarship - $1,000

  • Full-time or part-time female graduate student
  • Must be attending Texas State University
  • Open to all Health majors
  • Cumulative GPA: 2.5 or higher
  • U.S. Citizen
  • 500 word essay topic: What does it mean to be a responsible member of your community and your goals for creating additional opportunities for other Hispanic women?
